Terms of Service
Last updated: 19 July 2026
Draft, pending full legal review. This describes HugFlight honestly as it exists today. A few sections will be refined as the product and its policies mature.
1. What HugFlight is
HugFlight lets you send a short text message — a “Hug” — to a person or to a curated destination (a hospital, cause, or place). Every Hug appears on a public, animated map as it “travels.” HugFlight is not a messaging app and is not a social network: there are no likes, followers, feeds, or public profiles.
2. Who can use HugFlight
You must be able to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction to create an account.
3. Your account
You're responsible for your account credentials and for keeping your email address current. You may sign in with Google or with an email and password. Suspended accounts cannot sign in or send new Hugs; see “Moderation” below.
4. Content you send
Every Hug's message is reviewed before it's delivered or shown publicly — see “Moderation.” By sending a Hug you confirm the message is genuinely yours to send, isn't threatening, harassing, hateful, or unlawful, and doesn't contain anyone else's private information you don't have the right to share.
Hugs to a person: delivered privately to that person; shown on the public map only in an anonymised form (no message text, no identity) unless you choose to show your first name to the recipient. The recipient's identity is never shown on the public map.
Hugs to a destination: the message becomes publicly visible on that destination's page and the public map, but only after it passes moderation.
5. Moderation
Every Hug's text is automatically screened before it travels, using a third-party AI service (Anthropic's Claude), and may also be reviewed by a human moderator. A Hug that doesn't pass is held back — it is never shown publicly, and the sender is told simply that it needs a “little extra care.” We may remove content or suspend accounts that repeatedly violate these Terms.
6. Locations
We only ever collect and show a generalised locality (e.g. “Brisbane, Australia”) — never a precise address or exact coordinates, for you or anyone you send a Hug to.
7. Public map and honest numbers
The public map and its counters show real, current data — we don't display invented or aspirational figures as if they were live statistics.
8. Termination
We may suspend or remove an account that violates these Terms. You may stop using HugFlight at any time.
9. Disclaimers and liability
HugFlight is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ripe Solutions is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of HugFlight. Nothing in these Terms excludes any consumer guarantee that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time; the date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change. Continued use of HugFlight after a change means you accept the update.
