A hug isn't instant on purpose. It takes off from your town, flies its real distance across the living map in a few minutes, and lands. The wait is the point: while it flies, it's being checked like every hug, and everyone watching the map sees kindness moving.
Choosing when it lands
A birthday morning. The end of a shift.
Landing as soon as it can is the default. On the message step, under “How it flies”, you can choose the moment instead — up to 60 days ahead, read on the clock of the place it's going. It waits quietly, then flies its full journey to land on time. Nobody sees it until it departs, and you can take it back while it waits.
Keeping an occasion
A day worth remembering
After a hug to a person, you can keep a date for them — a birthday, an anniversary, the day of the operation. We remind you three days before, once. Occasions are yours alone and never appear anywhere public.
Moments
A group hug, landing together
Invite everyone who cares about one person to write for them. Share one link; each person adds one hug; every message takes flight together and lands on the day, on a page only that person opens. The names and the day stay private — the map shows only lights converging on a town.
Writing in the open
A postcard, not a feed
Messages to a person are private. One hug at a time, you can choose to write in the open instead: once it's been checked, your words appear on the map beside its light, signed with your first name and town. The person you sent it to is never named — and they can make it private at any time.
Listening to a place
Hear when kindness reaches somewhere
Every place's board has “Hear when hugs land here”. You'll get one note a day at most, and only when something actually landed. It's a place you're listening to — never a person you follow. Browse the places receiving kindness.
When the destination writes back
The hospital wrote back
Someone who speaks for a hospital, a school or a town can ask to; a person on our side checks. Once verified, they can leave one note a day for everyone whose hug landed there. The note is from the place, never from a person, and it's checked before it appears.
